See what our students and parents have to say...
My daughter Sarah and I have been training at TSDU for almost seven years. Besides all the exercise and self-defense training, TSDU has become our extended family. Most of my friends train at the studio. I have personally lost over sixty pounds and quit smoking for a year and a half due to the encouragement of Master Flame, Mrs. Flame and all the instructors. Sarah and I are currently 1st Dan Black Belts, but Sarah is about to start working on her 2nd Dan. One of the best decisions I ever made was enrolling us in Tang Soo Do at TSDU.
UPDATE FROM TSDU: Miss Sarah Stopol has successfully earned her 2nd Dan Black Belt and is still an active participant of our school, as is Mr. Mike Stopol.
Jason Flame's Tang Soo Do University has had a significant impact in our family's lives. Master and Mrs. Flame and the other instructors are in-tune with their students at every level. Their guidance and mentoring have taught my son discipline and patience and have supported the values we teach our children at home. We look forward to our youngest son starting soon.
The Young Family
UPDATE FROM TSDU: Their youngest son is is thriving in the Lil Dragon program and their oldest is an eager Intermediate student, attending classes as often as possible, in between his baseball and soccer games!
I highly recommend TSDU because of the positive changes I have seen in my son Ryan. Ryan has been taking classes for four years and I have seen an improvement in his behavior and attitude. He has learned self-control, respect for others, patience, and determination, among other life skills, through karate. Credit goes to the instructors for their hard work and professionalism, and for always motivating the students to do better. I give my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the exceptional staff at TSDU.
The Kramer Family
UPDATE FROM TSDU: Ryan will earn his Black Belt December 2011!
My son, James and I, have been students and Tang Soo Do University for the past four years. We have been training together for our Black Belts for the past five months. It has been a great learning and bonding experience for us. More often than that, James helps me in the parts of our training that require memorization such as forms, one-steps and kicking and/or punching progressions. He also helps me to remember to relax and not be so tense. On the other hand, I encourage James to keep going when the going gets a little tough. Martial arts training has been invaluable in helping me stay relatively fit and focused. For James, he is physically fit and emotionally has matured in his focus, ability to work towards a goal, and respect for authority. Tang Soo Do University has a practical, real-world approach to martial arts training. The instructors are friendly and easily approachable, always willing to share their knowledge and insights. Traditional forms, one-steps, combined with the modern sparring and grappling curriculum helps develop a well-rounded student. On May 15, 2010, if all goes well, James and I will receive our Black Belts. We will also have spent many irreplaceable hours of just being together. An experience that we will cherish forever. TANG SOO!
UPDATE FROM TSDU: Mr. Litiatco and Mr. Litiatco did indeed earn their Black Belts and are on their way toward 2nd Dan!
My family and I have been taking karate at TSDU for YEARS and we love it! My daughter started at the Pinecrest satellite location when she was three in the Pre-Karate (now Lil Dragons) program. My son followed shortly after that. When my daughter wanted to go to the studio to train, we moved my son as well. Now that my husband and I were exposed to what the kid did in class, it peaked our interest. We took one of the classes and were hooked. Now all four of us are in karate. I really like the discipline of the sport and the respect that is expected of the students in class. My children have taken the respect that they learn in class outside of the studio as well. They are a true joy for their grandparents, as they show them the respect that they deserve, and I attribute that to the respect and discipline of karate. We have all learned to take constructive criticism and not take it personally. A skill that is hard not only for children, but for adults as well. It has benefitted my husband and I in our work environment and the kids at school. The biggest thing for our family, is that we get to do this all together. Kids are involved in a lot of sports, but this is one where the whole family can train together, learn together, and help each other out. It is an experience that you can't get from any other sport.
The Roth Family
UPDATE FROM TSDU: Three members of the Roth Family have earned Black Belts at TSDU, and the forth is well on his way to his!

"As part of the 21st CCLC after school family, you made a tremendous impact upon our students at Community High School. Our students and I truly appreciated your professional demeanor and the excellent skills you brought with you every week. The self-defense class you taught was a great experience for the students because it not only provided them with a positive hobby, it also helped improve their self-esteem and confidence.
On behalf of our students and staff, I would like to thank you. You did an outstanding job and I would love to work with you in the future, if budget permits."
Thank you, Cynthia Frutos, Community High School Site Coordinator
"I have personally seen the positive impact martial arts training has had on children. It teaches self respect, self control, and responsibility. Master Jason Flame is excellent with kids. I would recommend his presentation to everyone."
